Do I need to be able to run at a certain speed?
No, all speeds are welcome and we have between two and three coaches to ensure that no one is left on their own.
Do I need to be able to run a certain distance?
Yes, you will need to be able to run a minimum of three miles without stopping.
Do I have to do every run?
All of our sessions are optional. You can choose to enjoy the surroundings and explore on your own or just lie back and relax with a good book.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Mats will be provided.
What happens if it rains?
We will run whatever the weather, be prepared with the right clothing.
Trail running shoes are prefreable although if it's dry, road shoes should suffice.
Plenty of running socks.
Running backpack (optional).
Suntan lotion (we hope!).
Race Yoga & Wild Sauna Retreat
Join our Wild Sauna Recovery Retreat.
The sauna is part of the incredible Beach Box Sauna, two individually converted saunas that sit right on the beach looking out to sea.
With a glowing wood fired stove heating the saunas, you'll be able to warm yourself up and relax your muscles after the winter race. A cold outdoor shower or a dip in the sea is there for those that dare (we would recommend it!).
Yoga stretching in the larger sauna will also be available on the half hour during the retreat with founder of GRTW, Rachael Woolston.
In addition to the sauna, you'll get a delicious hot bowl of vegan spiced butternut squash soup with bread, a place to drop your bag before the race (so no queuing before and after) and access to the sauna portable toilet (less queuing and clean!).
For women only.
Avoid the race queues and drop your race/recovery bag with us anytime from 8.30am. We also have a portaloo at our exclusive use for the event.
With the race starting at 9.30am, this leaves you plenty of time to get to your starting pen and to warm up.
After the race
As soon as you've finished your race, make you way back to our retreat.
You can choose to relax first and refuel with our delicious homemade soup, chunky bread, tea, coffee or water (or some special treats from some of our sponsors - more to come).
Or simply get changed into your swimming costume and relax in the lovely heat of one of the saunas. There's a large one seating around 20, or a smaller hotter version for 8 people.
We will be offering some yoga stretches every half hour in the larger sauna.
There is also a plunge pool, perfect for post race running legs.
Retreat closes at 1.15pm
Whether you finish your race in 90 minutes, or two and a half hours, there is still plenty of time for you to enjoy a fantastic recovery reterat with Girls Run the World.
And you get to beat ALL the toilet and race bag queues!
Can non runners come?
Of course, if you have supporters, they're welcome to come as long as they have paid entry.
Is it naked?
No, the sauna is a clothed sauna.
What if it rains?
Even better! It's a great place to warm up after a race, leaving you feeling rested and restored.
Is there parking?
No, we are in the race village so the same travel arrangements exist for us as the event.
PRICE: £30 plus processing fee. BOOK HERE.
