Kelly has a long pedigree in swimming, starting with a swim team at the age of six in Californa where she was born. But as she admits, it didn't necessarily come easy to start with. 'I was better at football but decided to pursue swimming because I liked the idea that I wasn’t great at it. I knew I could get better and loved the hard work involved.' And her hard work paid off.
After racing competitively through university, Kelly then took to open water swimming welcoming the chance to enjoy the experience rather than the finish time.
Kelly has now been coaching for over a decade, first under the tutelage of Olympic level coaches, then masters level coaching alongside coaching and guiding for SwimTrek.

We would recommend you use fins or a pull buoy for some of these drills. It can help you to focus on your upper body and arm stroke.
