About the course
This 12 week training plan for those who are running a road half marathon for the first time, or who want to build on their experience to gain speed. Please be aware that the first week's long slow run is four miles.
It is ideally sorted to someone who runs regularly at least twice per week. For a complete first timer to half marathon, please refer to our 16 week training programmes.
The plan is included in our quarterly and annual membership (£52.50 or £182.50 using the first year launch code, GRTWTB expires July 2022) or you can purhase as a stand alone plan.
The plan includes three structured blocks, a build phase where we focus on your building up endurance and aerobic fitness, a peak phase, where we begin to introduce some pace sessions, and a taper.
There are four runs per week, all based on time out running with the long run in miles (you can switch to kilometres in your Training Peaks setting).
We would recommend you combine the first four week blocks with some strength training, such as our Glute Performance programme or include this as part of a 16 week training block.
Rachael has over fifteen years experience in strength training for women. An Age Group Triathlete for GB and 1st woman V40 Mumbai Marathon, she also has competed in Ironman. She has created weight-lifting and HIIT programmes that transform performance and help women to become stronger and more stable.
